Invitation to attend the Museum Service Information Session: Appointment of Governing Bodies

The term of office of the current Governing Bodies of affiliated museums in the Boland & West Coast, Breederiver Valley, Cape Metro, Eden & Overberg regions are coming to an end this year. The new term of office will commence 1 November 2025 until 31 October 2028.

The Department of Cultural Affairs & Sport is herewith inviting interested individuals who would like to serve on the Governing Body of their local museum in The Metro Region, to attend the Museum Service Information Session. During the session the roles and responsibilities of a governing body and its members will be outlined and there will also be time set aside for Q&A. There will be an opportunity to engage the Regional Museum Manager and the relevant museum manager at the information session.

Museums in the Metro Region include the Cape Medical Museum, the Cape Town Museum, SA Sendinggestig Museum, Hout Bay Museum, Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum and Simons Town Museum

The sessions will start at 15h00 for each museum as follow:

18 June:  Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum

19 June: SA Sendinggestig Museum

25 June: Hout Bay Museum

01 July:  Simons Town Museum
